The #62 Easy Pocket Carver from Great Eastern Cutlery, is a timeless classic Congress pattern with a timeless look and feel. The traditional, shallow concave back and shallow convex top define the pattern in this three blade “carver” configuration: one medium Wharncliffe and two small Wharncliffe blades. This Farm & Field version is all business with no bolsters or shield, brass liners and Orange Delrin covers.
Brand new, direct from Great Eastern Cutlery, USA.
Blade:Â The #62 Pocket Carver comes with three blades: the primary blade at one end and two more at the opposite end of the handle. The primary blade is a mid-size, flat ground Wharncliffe blade riding on both springs for tackling the heavy work when whittling and woodworking and etched with the “Farm & Field Pocket Carver” logo. Two smaller flat ground Wharncliffe blades ride independently on the dual springs and are set up for finer work to keep you going to the end of the project. All three 1095 high carbon steel blades open with a snappy half stop via a classic nail nick and have a fine satin finish and a subtle top swedge for style and performance.
Handle: Orange Delrin handle scales are fitted perfectly to classic brass liners forming the gently curving handle which tapers slightly toward either end. Fine yet rugged covers offer a warm, natural feel for comfort in the hand, striking visual appeal and exceptional durability and weather resistance. Brass liners and pins round out construction.
Each #62 ships rolled up in wax paper inside a shipping tube with company information on the front.
1095 High Carbon Steel:Â Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.

I love the orange color of the handle—it’s easy to spot if dropped. The blades are quality, but one seems a bit stiff to open.

A solid knife overall. The blades are sharp, but the pocket clip feels flimsy and could break easily.

Great knife for field and farm work. The three blades are versatile, but the hinge on one blade is a bit loose. Still recommend!
